Christian Impulses in Agriculture
Individual Developmental Themes for Humanity and the Earth.
When we talk of Christianity, we speak in a general religious sense, not in terms of a confessional state. This needs to become clear – that we mean the area of general humanity, which does not just cover faith but also the deeds that surround the responsibility for human beings and the earth. We use the word “Christian” because we wish to reach a certain quality, which through world history has been associated with the appearance of Christ. This is especially seen in the elements and areas of love, but also in faith – where, for example, Christ features through different names and forms in different cultures. Through our various lectures we will look at the theme from different cultural and religious points of view. “Internal transformation and inner connections” is a concept that expresses what we mean. In this conference we wish to look into the motives which penetrate our daily work – what motivates us to be active agriculturally (biodynamically) on this earth? What does the earth need? The ‘answer’ could be in the current way in which we operate on the land and the convictions we hold to work with the earth. The latter has more of a general – ethical or also religious – direction; it is, however, just as individual. In this light, can a mutual self-finding direction be seen, where success is in moving towards the direction of people working together sustainably? We hope it is, and that though this conference the possibility of this direction is opened.
We welcome you warmly to this challenging topic!
